The General Board of Pension and Health Benefits(General Board)is a not-for-profit administrative agency that is responsible for the general supervision and administration of retirement, health and welfare benefit plans, programs and funds for more than 74,000 active and retired clergy and lay employees of The United Methodist Church—from universities, hospitals and retirement homes to small and large churches across the United States.

For more than 100 years, the General Board has administered benefit plans, programs, services and policies designed to serve and support the financial well-being of participants and their families in accordance with established business
practices.

With more than $16 billion in assets, we rank in the top 100 pension plans in the country and are the largest denominational not-for-profit financial service organization in the world.

As the nation's largest faith-based pension fund, the General Board works with the world's largest corporations to address the pressing environmental, economic and social issues of our time and focuses on socially responsible investing.
