Marrakech, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of human services. The organization serves people throughout Connecticut. The organization subscribes to basic principles and standards that drive how each service is carried out. These include the provision of highly individualized services reflecting what each person has expressed to be his or her desires and dreams, treating each person with respect and dignity, cultural competence, equality and empowerment.


Marrakech, Inc. was founded in 1971 to provide residential services to people with mild mental retardation. As the organization progressed, other services were added and other populations served. Today, Marrakech, Inc. provides employment and training programs, vocational assessment and job placement, case management, outreach and engagement, day service options, affordable housing and a wide array of residential support to over 900 people per year. The organization serves adults who may have all types of disabilities, adults who face economic challenges (transitioning from welfare to work), youth-at-risk, and special education students transitioning to careers. The organization has service centers in New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury, New Milford and Cheshire.

Our mission is to provide residential, employment, support, referral, and advocacy services to people with disabilities and people with similar service needs, to assist them in exercising their human rights as citizens and as contributing members of society.

Our vision is that each person we serve will live and work in the community and be accepted by their neighbors, coworkers, family, friends and acquaintances for their individual qualities and contributions.
