Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Design, install, troubleshoot and maintain Security video and conference room audio/visual systems.
2.Provide audio video support for both live and post productions.
3.Perform preventive and remedial maintenance on the equipment assigned to the Audio/Video Section.
4.Install new components and systems, as well as create and update audio video engineering documents and diagrams. Capable of reading schematics and wiring diagrams.
5.Proficiently use electronic test equipment (waveform monitor, vectorscope, oscilloscope and multi meters) with no direction to troubleshoot issues
6.Maintain, design and troubleshoot broadcast video systems to include switchers, routing and production, TV microwave vans, non linear edit bays and associated line gear including fiber optic transmission equipment.
7.Troubleshoot and repair audio/video distribution, audio and video consoles, cameras, videotape recorders and playback devices.
8.Troubleshoot Dryden TV and security video systems and equipment using electronic test equipment.
9.Responsible for creating equipment lists; rack and console conceptual audio/ video, and control diagrams; patch panel and custom I/O panel layouts for audio/video systems.
10.Design, install and maintain Dryden’s Security video and conference room audio/visual systems at NASA Dryden and Dryden’s off-site locations.
11.Provide audio/video support for both live and post productions.
12.Maintain Optibase IPTV system.
13.Perform maintenance on multi-media interfaces required for press feeds.
14.Research and recommend technological capabilities that provide cost-effective solutions for our Dryden customers.
15.Setup and maintain mobile television vans, evaluate, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot a wide range of broadcast equipment.
16.Perform operational system checks. Meet customer requirements to assure proper operation and dependability of DFRC audio/video systems.
17.Configuration, operation and integration of video/audio switchers, cameras, patch panels and related equipment, understanding of Apple Final Cut Pro non-linear editing systems.
18.Maintain proper documentation and drawings of Dryden video systems per NASA and Arcata requirements.

•Strong computer skills
•Understand and interact with LAN systems as a part of an overall security installation.

•HD/SD cameras, VTRs and support equipment and formats
•Various compression schemes
•Electronic test equipment such as and not limited to, oscilloscope, TV test generators, vector scope, waveform monitors, fiber optic and multi meters
General knowledge of: Component level repairs. Setup and maintenance of mobile television vans; evaluate, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot a wide range of broadcast equipment with minimal direction; capable of reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and system drawings. Must be proficient with the use of electronic test equipment such as and not limited to, oscilloscope, TV test generators, vector scope, waveform monitors, fiber optic and multi meters; Familiarity with computer networks and storage.
Ability to: Communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Apply the principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; Establish and maintain successful work relationships with those contacted in the performance of this position; analyze and resolve problems, make decisions independently; work in a team environment; work under deadlines. Perform work in an ISO compliant/certified environment.

Requirements
Education and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and at least 4 years of work related experience or High School Diploma with seven years of work related experience. FCC General Class license or Society of Broadcast Engineering certification is a plus.
Certifications/Licenses:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.
Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, prolonged sitting while using the computer and the telephone and attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. The position requires a significant amount of time utilizing a computer for reviewing documents, preparing reports and schedules, and responding to emails and phone calls. These duties, plus attending meetings, may result in decreased physical activity. However, demands on the body due to repetitive activities and an extended time in the same position can be experienced. The use of a computer for many hours of the day may also contribute to added eyestrain and possible neck irritation. The position also requires the individual to actively be involved with day-to-day operations and equipment maintenance as required. The individual is then subject to the same environment and demands as that of his/her work group. The ability to travel as required by the company is also necessary.
